TheBlooper Privacy Policy
Effective date: 15 October 2026
TheBlooper is a loop station for the Mac, made by poingg (“we”). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use TheBlooper. In short: TheBlooper doesn’t collect, store or share any of your personal data. Everything you record and create stays on your Mac.
What TheBlooper collects
Nothing. TheBlooper has no user accounts, analytics, advertising, tracking or third-party SDKs. It doesn’t make network connections of its own, and it never sends your recordings, songs, settings or usage anywhere.
Data retention and deletion
TheBlooper keeps your recordings, songs and settings only on your Mac, for as long as you keep them. You can delete any memory in the app, or remove everything by deleting TheBlooper and its folder in ~/Library/Containers. Since we never receive any of your data, there is nothing for us to keep or delete.
Microphone and audio input
TheBlooper asks for access to your microphone or audio interface so it can record loops. The audio is processed and recorded only on your Mac, in real time. It’s never uploaded or shared. You can turn access off at any time in System Settings ▸ Privacy & Security ▸ Microphone.
Your songs, loops and settings
Your loops, memories (songs), song notes, signal-chain presets and settings are saved only on your Mac, in TheBlooper’s own folders. Files you import (audio files, MIDI drum styles, SoundFonts) are read only when you choose them. Files you export or back up go only where you save them. We have no access to any of it. Removing TheBlooper and its data from your Mac deletes it.
MIDI devices
TheBlooper reads MIDI messages from the controllers, footswitches and keyboards you connect, to control the looper and play instruments. These messages stay on your Mac.
Audio Unit plug-ins
You can add Audio Unit effects and instruments from other developers to TheBlooper’s signal chain. Those plug-ins are separate software that you installed. They’re governed by their makers’ own terms and privacy policies, which may differ from this. TheBlooper doesn’t send any data to them beyond the audio and MIDI they process.
Purchases (TheBlooper Pro)
TheBlooper Pro is an in-app purchase made through Apple’s App Store. Apple handles the payment and your Apple Account under Apple’s Privacy Policy. TheBlooper only asks the App Store whether Pro has been purchased, so it can unlock its features. It never receives your payment details or personal information.
Crash reports
If you’ve chosen in your Mac’s settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may give us anonymous crash and diagnostic reports. They help us fix problems and don’t identify you. You can change this in System Settings ▸ Privacy & Security ▸ Analytics & Improvements.
Children
TheBlooper doesn’t collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we’ll update it on this page and change the effective date above.
